What’s the story behind Madison+ Ruby?
Madison Ruby started by visiting Scotland on Rails in 2009. Watching three awkward gentlemen organize an event which featured the city in which they lived made us realize that it was something we could achieve, if not excel at. They had the luxury of picturesque and historic Edinburgh Scotland as a backdrop.
While living in Jacksonville Beach, FL the differential in quality of life and other factors made us appreciate what we had left in Madison, WI. We started planning the conference with the intent to organize it entirely from 1200 mi away. Life intervened and we wound up relocating before the inaugural event. That was 2011 and we’re happily ensconced in the Madison tech community and are organizing more than three conferences each year.
